WELCOME TO THE WEST WASHOE ASSOCIATION
If you're like us, you chose to live in Washoe Valley because of its quiet rural lifestyle. You made a substantial investment in your property, one that depends on keeping Washoe Valley an exceptional rural community.
We're the West Washoe Association, a volunteer group made up entirely of single-family residential property owners like you. Since 1994, we’ve been fighting to protect our community from excessive growth, inappropriate development, traffic gridlock and environmental threats.
You and the West Washoe Association can do what an individual homeowner can't always do. When you come to us for help, we can put the strength of the West Washoe Association to work for you. Together, we provide a unified and respected front at City, County,State and elsewhere. We know which meetings to attend, when to write letters (and more importantly, where to send them), and what to say to whom. We're far stronger than any homeowner acting individually.
The West Washoe Association evolved in 1994 from previous homeowners’ associations that had done so much to help preserve the quality of life in our beautiful valley. The purpose of the Association is to provide information on local issues and create a line of communication between residents.
The Association is a group of homeowners and property owners located in West Washoe Valley who are concerned about their quality of life as it may be affected by the development of land in West Washoe Valley. We generally focus on protecting the South Valley Area Plan, first adopted by Washoe County on May 16, 1995, and all its elements. Many of the elements, the drafting and adoption of the plan, were conceived by members of the Association.
In addition, we publish an informative newsletter, helping spread the word on community issues. Feel free to E-MAIL US with any issues you may have.
We are working to make progress on the issues that really matter to our valley. We need your continued commitment, financial support and, for those willing, your time. If you are interested in helping preserve Washoe Valley, please contact us at the following address
